Best one even in 2024
If you file off the tabs how does the switchgear stay in place and not twist?
Hasn't twisted once in years. Just snug it up :)
still a perf vid, thank you!
Very nice
Next owner will say thank you
Just BTW the plugs in the cases can seize & cause horrendous trouble so the best thing to do to prevent this is: 1) I have read you should get the engine warm before attempting removal (not sure about this as the plug and the case both expand at the same rate); 2) put valve grinding paste on the hex spanner when you try to loosen the plug as it will grip a little better; 3) apparently the O-ring is the thing that grabs, so prise it out and put some anti-seize on *both* sides of it once you get it out the first time; 4) no need to do it up really tight when you're finished, just tweak it down. Hope this helps
The difference is not worth the time to swap ot the baffle.
The silent Baffle does make a difference in person. But mostly wide open throttle :)
Looks good. Looking forward to the review of it after you have used it a while. What temperature did you heat it up to in the oven?
That's nice, I'm going to do it tomorrow morning! Thank you.
Great vid mate. Very helpful for someone new to the bike. 🤙
Thanks for watching mate 🤙
I did that.... and I'm surprised a grown man did this. HORRIBLE IDEA! Your butt are gonna pay and with that the joy and time. I''m soon to be 60 so it figures, but save your butt before it get's into trouble! As in: HEMORIDERS!
That's a nice little tool pro box on ya project
I just got a 2021 DR650 , glad I found your channel , Very Helpful !
I’m going to do the same. lol. Great job man.
0:53 nice😂 ,solid ❤️
People still watching this video 😅
In my opinion there is only one “essential” mod on the DR650 and that only applies if you weigh more than 50lbs. That mod would be the sus suspension.
Mate what seat is that?
Seat concepts low :)
Extendable not too tricky. Two,pieces of tube, one small enough to fit inside the other. drill multiple holes in each so that extension can be raised to different heights - bolt through each tube to hold in place.
This brake light IS for what moto and model?
Factory / stock for new zealand and australia. I think usa uses a 250 brake light as a mod?
Hi great video! I am working on a old Suzuki 250 and it just wont go on neutral. I was even pressing the little red handle on the left but with no luck. I also can't figure out if this thing has a clutch or not of if it needs to have the battery connected to be able to go on neutral. Anyway, I appreciate your insight.
Not sure how this would apply to a postie bike (but works FINE on a 2006 Holden VZ ute !!!) - "Kerosene Flush". For a neglected engine, add KEROSENE (~ 20% engine oil capacity, so in this case around 200 mils?) and idle for 10-15 mins. Can clean up an engine beautifully. I was a bit sceptical of this "old farmers trick", but I was facing a hefty repair bill (likely a full engine rebuild) on my ute - it was blowing smoke (exhaust) badly and burning 1.5 - 2 ltrs oil per 1000 km. I drained the oil and replaced the filter, for 6.5 ltr oil capacity I added 5 litres oil and 2 litres kerosene and let it idle for 20 mins. What came out was BAD. Repeated the process (new filter, 5 litres oil, 2 litres kero) and ran it for 40 mins with a couple of 5 minute bursts at 3,000 rpm. Came out "not quite as bad" that time. A new fresh filter and 6.5 litres oil - NO EXHAUST SMOKE at all, seems to be more responsive, and oil burn has dropped from around 2 litres to HALF a litre per 1,000 km !!!
I have the one that has the 4x4 difflock with super low that looks almost identical and I sunk it today so ima see I'd I can get it to run again tmr
🔥🔥🔥
Did you order it off procycle or right from leo vince
From ebay from a reputable seller in italy if I remember right 👍
YO nice rig. What saddlebags are those?
Wolfman expedition if I remember right :) I think the models have changed
Awesome video as always! What pannier racks are they? Many thanks!
Dirt racks. From Canada if I remember right :)
Thanks@@NzJohny
What windshield did you get didn't see link? Thanks Nice Video 👍😊
Installed the Renthal RC High 0809-01-BK bars to my DR650 2018 after watching your video. I replaced the 2” risers to the standard bars which was OK at the time but not perfect. However, the Renthal bars with the original clamp (without the risers) was a huge improvement at the most forward setting (about 5 so straight up from the clamp). I can stand comfortably without hunching over and the DR feels more manoeuvrable and stable in the dirt. I can throw the bike around a lot more than before. The Renthal bars are stronger and will handle a drop without bending unlike the original thin bars. Thanks for sharing your upgrade which helped greatly. I’d recommend the Renthal RC High 0809 bars for the DR650. Fits with OEM cables without issue.
Do you have to empty the tank fo fuel?
Diconnect the kick stand switch and jumper the plug. If thebstand bounces down at all while riding it shuts the bike off.
, where did you get your windshield from?

Awesome experiment you show here. You have answered all my questions when i was considering to use cartridges for flat tires. It probably is a good tool to have and they are not so heavy to carry around on the motorbike. Thanks!
I like the simplicity of your videos. Straight forward 👍
how much did you spend on everything?
I made a video about it. Somewhere:)

Why not staintune ?..sounds good..but why not staintune.. staintune is the ultimate dr650 sound
Didn't want to loud. Must be getting old 😅
@@NzJohny ..Actually on that mate I totally agree..ever since my DB Killer fell out and was lost...mines a bit annoying to the neighbours at 6am in the morning...and somewhat obnoxious on throttle.
I don't know how the staintune works, but the Leo Vince uses baffles and not any sort of packing. As such it doesn't require any maintenance for the life of the bike.
@@TommyNitro Staintune is the same, no packing required and good for the life of the bike..full stainless also so keeps a nice polish..I've had mine for almost 8 years now and if anything the sound has improved over time..bloody expensive tho.
Nice! Didn't know if it had the packing or not. Enjoy! I went with the LV because it was low maintenance and cheaper for me to buy here in the states.@@drsous6400
Oil is cheap engines are not. I change mine more often than recommended.
cool , perhaps I will do similar on mu TT600R
How you do that
You make it look like an easy diy. What grease can I use for these bearings?
Great video, nice wind screen, who makes it?

What bag is that in the thumbnail? Thanks
The sugpak bergen
That thing is in great shape. Very cool.
Cheers Johny. Looking at pressing buy just now... but have to buy the parts individually. Which clamp and which ball option do we need?
Hey mate! That's a good question! I can't remember now 😅 have a good read through all the options and you should be good 👍. I got everything I expected.
@@NzJohny yeah. Looks about the same as what you out on
that 10mm side plate hex head for turning the crank has a really loose fit on my bike as well... it just feels wrong...
😍😍😍
What temperature in the oven and how long?
I just went full heat and watched until it sagged down then pulled it out 👍
